Message to the Judges
Dear Judges,
In the beginning of my senior project, I worried about time management. I knew that in my senior year I would be overwhelmed trying to juggle college classes, high school classes, senior project, sports, and work. This project made me learn how to manage my time diligently so I could get all my work done on time. Growing up, I wasn’t around people who volunteered. When I got older and had projects in which I had to volunteer for, I realized that I actually really enjoy volunteering. I found the reward was the gratitude you receive when you help someone. I strive for success in life because I know that my parents and older brother didn’t. I want to prove to them that I’m nothing like them; I’m better. I want to have a better life because I have seen first hand how bad life can be if you don’t have ambition and strive for goals. I am someone that has always loved helping people, so for my job shadow I decided to shadow a child therapist. It was such an amazing experience, and it made me realize what I want to do with the rest of my life. Throughout my twelve years in Caldwell schools I have learned so many things, the most important being that you can’t have the good without the bad. I have experienced good times and bad, but through it all I know there are so many loving community members that will always be here for me and others. Caldwell has its flaws, but nothing's perfect. There are so many people in my town that have touched my life whether it was for the better or not, and I am thankful for each one because they are all the reason I am who I am today. Thank you for your time, Katie Townsend
